Terms of use

Last updated: 23 October 2026

These terms apply when you use WhatToDrive. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Information is a guide only

WhatToDrive helps you research new cars sold in South Africa. Everything on the site is for general information only. It is not an offer to sell, a quote, or financial advice, and you should not treat it as fact without checking it.

We work hard to keep prices, specifications, features, warranties, service plans and availability accurate, but manufacturers change them often and we can't promise that every detail is correct, complete or current. Pictures may show models or options that differ from the cars on sale.

Before you buy, always confirm the details with a dealer and on the manufacturer's official South African website. The price and terms in your dealer agreement are the ones that count.

Calculators

The finance and affordability calculators give estimates only. Your actual repayment, interest rate and what you can afford depend on your lender, your credit profile, fees and the terms of your agreement.

Sponsored dealers and offers

Some dealers pay to appear on WhatToDrive, and their sections are marked as sponsored. A sponsored offer price is set by that dealer, not by us. Any dealings you have with a dealer, including quotes, finance and the sale itself, are between you and the dealer. We are not a party to them and aren't responsible for a dealer's products, service or conduct.

Links to other websites

We link to dealer and manufacturer websites for your convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

Our liability

As far as the law allows, WhatToDrive is not liable for any loss or damage that comes from relying on information on the site, from errors or omissions, or from the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law that can't be excluded.

Using the site fairly

Please don't copy the site's content in bulk, scrape it, or try to interfere with how it works. The WhatToDrive name, design and content belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. Car makes, models and logos belong to their owners.

Your privacy

Our privacy policy explains what information we handle and why.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law
